Maytag is my first conformation dog. What a beautiful puppy. My breeder said the name needed to stay. I just couldn’t believe that name. There is a story though. It was a large litter and at 3 ½ weeks old all the puppy towels were going in to be washed. The lid of the washing machine wasn’t quite down when here comes a puppy crawling out. The next day a friend called and asked my breeder how our little “Maytag” was doing…so thus the name.
Maytag loves the show ring. She could out move any dog in the ring. She loves competing in Veteran’s and still floats around the ring. Maytag got a 5 point major at the Fargo KC show handled by my niece Kandice O’Grady.
She finished her Championship at the Des Moines Golden Retriever Specialty in 2002 with a 4 point major handled by Doug Carlson. Maytag also obtained her Canadian Championship shown by Kandice O’Grady and finished by Jessica Hanson. She was a terrific junior’s dog as well.
She is Queen of my household. She loves everyone. She is great with puppies and raised 3 wonderful litters. I was most proud when she was awarded the title of an OD, an Outstanding Dam by the Golden Retriever Club of America.
She is the foundation of Patchwork Goldens. |
