Am/Can Champion Dakota's Texas Tornado CGC, NA, NAJ simply..."J.R."

5/22/09 - 9/24/08

This was the day I lost my sweet J.R. It's the reason my website is so behind. I am just now finding it in myself to write about him. He was only 9 when he was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, an aggressive blood-borne cancer. I had 3 weeks to say goodbye. I am grateful for that time.

He was the type of dog that stole your heart as a puppy and never gave it back. He had this huge gorgeous head that was so lovable.

Kandice and I spent so much time with him...training, going to shows, hotel rooms, even driving to New York for the Westminster show--its hard to explain the bond.

He wasn't perfect by any means....he was a goof ball!!! He could be outstanding one weekend in the agility ring...winning 4 blue ribbons in 4 shows. The next time totally humiliating me by running his own course.
He preferred sitting in your lap so he could be hugged. I should have never trained him to do that....it didn't always go over with everyone as he got older and weighed #75, especially if its your elderly parents!!
He won everyone over with his sweetness and silliness.

He would hop up on the bed at night and lay that big head on my shoulder. He'd stay long enough until he thought I was asleep and then he would go find his cool spot on the floor.

I had heard about the difference between female and male Goldens. The females will say..."Love me, Love me".....and the males will say "I Love you, I Love You".....I never would have believed that until I experienced it firsthand with J.R.

I doubt I will have another as special as he was. I can only thank Bonnie & Jim Wakely for my beautiful boy.
May you Rest in Peace J.R.
